The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a clarification on the election of two Deputy Constituency Youth Organisers, addressing the status of the "Other Youth" category within the party.

In a press release dated September 12, 2026, the party's National Secretariat said the National Executive Committee (NEC) had decided that the current status quo regarding the "Other Youth" category shall remain in force.

"The National Democratic Congress wishes to inform all party members that, following a decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the current status quo regarding the 'Other Youth' category shall remain in force," the statement said.

The party said Congress may subsequently decide on ratifying the NEC's decision to designate the Other Youth as a second Deputy Youth Organiser, which would result in two Constituency Deputy Youth Organisers. It said that, upon ratification, that officer would enjoy all rights and privileges accruing to the position.

The NDC directed all party structures, officers and members to take note of the clarification and ensure strict compliance in conducting all party elections.

"The Party counts on the cooperation of all party members and the general public to ensure a transparent, orderly and credible electoral process," the statement said.

The release was signed by the party's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
