NPP will reinstate Gertrude Torkornoo as Chief Justice when we come back to power - Afenyo-Markin hints
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has alleged that Chief Justice (CJ) Paul Baffoe-Bonnie was part of a "grand conspiracy" against his predecessor, Gertrude Araba Asaaba Torkonoo, claiming the purpose of the alleged plot was to install Baffoe-Bonnie in the CJ position.
Speaking on Atinka TV's 'Ghana Nie' morning show, Afenyo-Markin said Baffoe-Bonnie and the Supreme Court judges he claims were involved are fully aware of what happened.
"He knows, I know, the Supreme Court judges who conspired against their colleague [all know]. Why should I deny that?" he said.
He said the "true story" would eventually come out and become obvious to everyone.
Afenyo-Markin also repeated his position that a future New Patriotic Party (NPP) government would restore Torkonoo to the Chief Justice position.
"I don't see why that woman will not be reinstated, when the NPP returns to power," he said.
