NITA launches 2026 ICT Week to advance Ghana's digital transformation
The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has officially launched the 2026 National ICT Week Celebration, reaffirming its commitment to accelerating Ghana's digital transformation and fostering innovation across the country's digital ecosystem.
The launch, held in Accra, brought together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, the technology industry, and the media to mark the beginning of the annual event.
This year's celebration is being held under the theme, "Innovation at Scale: Creating Opportunities Across Ghana's Digital Ecosystem," underscoring the importance of leveraging technology-driven innovation to create jobs, enhance digital services, and strengthen Ghana's position in the global digital economy.
Speaking to Accra News, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency, Nana Yaw Amoah-Yeboah, said the National ICT Week provides a platform for industry players, professionals, government representatives, and the public to engage on emerging trends, technological innovations, and opportunities within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.
He explained that the launch offers participants an overview of the week's activities while featuring presentations on key issues shaping Ghana's digital transformation agenda.
Mr. Amoah-Yeboah expressed confidence that the celebration would deepen public awareness of digital technologies and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in advancing the country's digital development goals.
The Director-General further emphasized NITA's longstanding commitment to building Ghana's digital infrastructure, noting that the agency has consistently invested in initiatives aimed at expanding digital access, improving public service delivery, and supporting the country's digital transformation agenda.
He reaffirmed NITA's commitment to working with stakeholders to drive innovation and accelerate the growth of Ghana's ICT sector.
The annual National ICT Week has become one of Ghana's flagship technology events, providing a platform for policymakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and development partners to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and explore solutions for building an inclusive, resilient, and competitive digital economy.
