2026 FIFA WC: Black Stars to tour Asia in preparatory matches against South Korea, Japan

Ghana's Black Stars is set to tour Asia, taking on Japan and South Korea.
The international friendlies are in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Americas.
At Toyota Stadium in Aichi, Japan, on Friday, November 14, 2025, Ghana will first go up against Japan, for the 2025 Kirin Challenge Cup.
Their clash with South Korea is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18,.
On Sunday, October 12, the Black Stars qualified for the global showdown, after besting Comoros 1-0, in a home match at the Accra (Ohene Gyan) Sports Stadium.
The Otto Addo-led team leads Group I with 25 points, after 10 matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The impending matches against Japan and South Korea form part of a strategic plan to give the team top-level opposition in readiness for the tournament which begins in June 2026, jointly hosted by Canada, United States, and Mexico.
The last time Ghana faced South Korea was at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. The final results were in favour of Ghana; 3-2.
Japan qualified for the 2026 World Cup in March.
