Vice President Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has visited the Black Stars’ camp to express government support ahead of Ghana’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama.

She led a government delegation on Tuesday, June 16, to encourage the team as they prepare for their Group-stage opener scheduled for Wednesday.

Addressing players and officials, the Vice President conveyed greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and assured the squad of the nation’s support.

She urged the team to approach the match with confidence and said Ghanaians are united in backing the Black Stars throughout the tournament.

The delegation included Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie and other senior government officials.

The players and technical team thanked the delegation for the visit and the encouragement.

Ghana will begin its World Cup campaign against Panama, with the match expected to draw significant attention from fans at home and abroad.
