2026 FIFA WCQ: Kwasi Sibo to join Black Stars remedy midfield ills against Mali

Midfielder Kwasi Sibo is set to join the Black Stars.
The team is currently undertaking a campaign to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After drawing against Chad, with a consolatory one point, yesterday, Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Black Stars aim to win against Mali, Monday, September 8, at the Accra (Ohene Gyan) Sports Stadium.
Impressed by Sibo's impressive form for his club, Real Oviedo, including featuring in all three matches since the season began, Coach Otto Addo has tapped him to remedy his midfield concerns.
Thomas Partey, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Elisha Owusu cannot play after falling ill before the Chad match, a knee knock, and multiple yellow cards, respectively.
The Black Stars resume training at 5 PM at the Accra Sports Stadium today, Friday, September 5.
Meanwhile, they lead Group I with 16 points, ahead of Madagascar, Mali, and Chad.
