AFCON 2025: CAF awards final to Morocco, citing Senegal's forfeit
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board has ruled that the Senegal national football team forfeited the final of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025.
The decision, taken in line with Article 84 of the AFCON regulations, follows events on the day of the final which led to the match not being played as scheduled.
As a result, CAF determined that Senegal forfeited the fixture, and the match has been officially awarded to the Morocco national football team.
The final score has, therefore, been recorded as 3–0 in favour of Morocco, represented by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football.
The ruling confirms Morocco as winners of the tournament by default, in accordance with the competition’s regulations governing forfeited matches.
