Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is on the verge of a major return to the English Premier League, with a medical scheduled later this week ahead of a proposed move to newly promoted Ipswich Town.

The Tractor Boys, who are preparing for their highly anticipated return to England's top flight after a 22-year absence, have reportedly agreed to a transfer fee in the region of £20 million with Leicester City.

According to prominent sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs, the completion of the high-profile transfer is now entirely dependent on the 22-year-old clearing his medical examinations.

Despite a grueling 2025–2026 campaign that saw Leicester City suffer a devastating relegation from the EFL Championship down to League One, Issahaku stood out as a major bright spot for the Foxes.

The dynamic forward enjoyed a highly productive individual season, racking up 9 goals and eight assists across 44 appearances in all competitions.

His stellar club form earned him a prominent spot in the Black Stars squad for the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he featured in four matches for Ghana.

By securing a move back to the Premier League, Issahaku is looking to capitalise on his post-World Cup momentum, mirroring the path of his international teammate Gideon Mensah who has already secured a lucrative two-year contract with German Bundesliga side FC Köln.
