FIFA has officially confirmed that the Ghana national football team will establish its group-stage training headquarters at Bryant University in the Boston metropolitan area for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The designation is part of a comprehensive tournament announcement by football's global governing body detailing all 48 Team Base Camp Training Sites selected for the expanded tournament across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Bryant University will function as the Black Stars' operational hub and technical training center throughout the opening round of the tournament, providing the necessary infrastructure for players, coaching staff, and support personnel.

Strategic Travel Framework for Group L

Ghana has been placed into Group L, where they face a multi-city travel itinerary across North America:

- Matchday 1: vs. Panama (Toronto, Canada)

- Matchday 2: vs. England (Boston, United States)

- Matchday 3: vs. Croatia (Philadelphia, United States)

Establishing their primary base camp in the Boston area is strategically designed to eliminate cross-continental transit ahead of their second group fixture against England, which will take place locally in Massachusetts.

The Selection Process and Tournament Footprint

The logistical selection pipeline began in 2024, culminating after the official World Cup draw in December 2025. Qualified member associations selected their setups from a pool of over 60 vetted training locations across the continent.

Out of the 48 competing nations, the geographic distribution of base camps stands at:

- United States: 39 teams

- Mexico: 7 teams

- Canada: 2 teams

FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi emphasised the logistical importance of these hubs, noting that base camps are an integral element of the tournament structure where teams train, recover, and establish daily operating routines.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz will utilize the Bryant University facilities as his side seeks to navigate a group consisting of Panama, England, and Croatia.

The Black Stars are currently stationed in Cardiff executing their preliminary preparation camp ahead of an international friendly against Wales on June 2, after which they will cross the Atlantic to their North American headquarters.
