The Ghana Football Association has announced ambitious goals for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, aiming to reach the final of the prestigious tournament.

Ghana, four-time African champions, will make their fifth appearance at the Mundial, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Drawn in Group L, the Black Stars will face Panama, England, and Croatia in the group stage.

Speaking to 3Sports, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum outlined the national team’s ambitions:

“It’s our dream to make it all the way to the final. We want to qualify from the group, progress to the quarterfinals, move on to the semis, and then reach the final.”

Ghana will kick off their campaign against Panama on June 17, face England on June 23, and conclude their group stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.

As part of their preparations, coach Otto Addo’s squad will play two high-profile friendly matches, taking on Austria in Vienna on March 27, followed by a clash with Germany in Stuttgart on March 30.

The build-up matches are expected to provide valuable experience for the Black Stars as they pursue their historic goal of reaching the World Cup final.
