The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), and Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana Exim Bank) will organise the Invest Ghana Business Forum and Exhibitions in Canada and the United States during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The events will be held in Montreal, Toronto, and Philadelphia and are aimed at promoting Ghana as an investment destination and attracting foreign direct investment into key sectors of the economy.

The forums will showcase investment opportunities linked to government initiatives such as the Big Push Agenda, the 24-Hour Economy, and the Volta Economic Corridor Project. Priority sectors to be highlighted include energy, agribusiness, manufacturing, mining and minerals value addition, the digital economy, healthcare, tourism, and real estate.

As part of the programme, GEPA will open its first Ghana Trade House in Philadelphia to support export growth and increase the visibility of Ghanaian products and services in the United States market.

Expected participants include GIPC Chief Executive Officer Simon Madjie, GEPA Chief Executive Officer Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur, GFZA Chief Executive Officer Dr Mary Awusi, Ghana Exim Bank Chief Executive Officer Sylvester Adinam Mensah, the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, representatives of Ghana's missions in Canada and the United States, businesses, investors, and trade associations.

According to the organisers, the initiative aligns with Ghana's medium-term development goals of industrialisation, infrastructure development, value addition, and job creation.

Mr Madjie said the engagements are expected to strengthen Ghana's international investment profile, increase investor interest in projects, encourage diaspora participation, and support long-term investment promotion efforts.

Mr Arthur said the Ghana Trade House in Philadelphia will create opportunities for Ghanaian businesses to access and compete in the US market.

Dr Awusi noted that the World Cup presents an opportunity to showcase Ghana's free zones programme and attract investment into export-oriented industries.

Mr Adinam Mensah said the forums would help create opportunities for Ghanaian businesses, boost investor confidence, and support the growth of value-added exports.

The organisers expect the engagements to help convert international interest generated by the World Cup into investment partnerships, trade opportunities, and long-term economic benefits for Ghana.
