Semenyo nominated for EPL Player of the Month after flying start at Man City
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month for February following an impressive run of form in the English Premier League.
The 26-year-old forward earned the nomination after making an immediate impact since his move to Manchester City. Semenyo has scored five league goals in his first seven appearances for the title contenders, with three of those strikes coming in February.
During the month, he found the net in City’s 2–2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur before adding goals in victories over Fulham and Leeds United.
Semenyo faces stiff competition for the monthly honour. The other nominees include his City teammate Nico O'Reilly, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres, Brentford forward Dango Ouattara, Manchester United star Benjamin Šeško, as well as Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.
Despite being nominated twice this season, Semenyo is still chasing his first Player of the Month award.
The England-born attacker completed a £62.5 million transfer from AFC Bournemouth to Manchester City during the winter transfer window.
