UG Corporate Football League: Match week 8 recap, Group B
Match week 8 was good to Group B. Five (5) games played, five (5) teams went home happy and a few individuals made sure their names were remembered!
Telecel Ghana narrowly defeated BOST Energies 1-0 in a hard-fought match. Richard Bruce stepped up as the hero with his second-half goal, breaking the tie and securing all three points for Telecel Ghana.
Wilmar Africa also won 1-0 against Forestry Commission, thanks to a second-half goal from Roland Tetteh. In a game with few chances, Wilmar struck at the right time to keep climbing the table.
National Petroleum Authority (NPA) achieved a solid 2-0 victory over Ghana Airports Company Limited with goals in both halves. Maxwell Agyei scored first, setting an early tone, and Ibrahim Adams added another goal in the second half to ensure a comfortable win.
National Communications Authority (NCA) performed strongly as well, defeating Lebanese Sports Community 2-0. Ransford Mills broke the deadlock, and Elvis Attakorah Hamilton secured the second goal, clinching a convincing win and a clean sheet for NCA.
Zenith Bank FC battled hard to win 2-1 against Union in one of the round's more competitive matches. Samuel Nensom and Bismark De-Graft scored for Zenith, giving them the edge despite a goal from Union’s Emmanuel Arthur.
With each match resulting in a winner, the Group B standings are starting to take shape as teams compete for qualification. The close scores and crucial performances this week highlight how competitive the group has become, leaving no room for error as the league moves forward.
