I’m inspired by the people who look up to me – Nana Aba Anamoah
Nana Aba Anamoah has revealed what keeps her going in life.
“I feel there are too many people that look up to me and if I decide to give up, I would have disappointed them and I do not like to disappoint people deliberately,” she told Nana Romeo, when she guested on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo midmorning programme, Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
“When I make promises, I want to be able to live up to those promises.”
She said she desires earnestly “to have an impact on anyone that comes close to me,” emphasising: “That is what inspires me.”
Looking back on 2024, the popular broadcaster said the year was “exceptional, great, wonderful”.
Here, she made the surprising disclosure she does not set targets or resolutions for herself as is typical of many especially at the start of a new year.
“I don’t set targets for myself. Everyday is a beautiful day for me and I just face the day as it happens. That’s how I deal with my life,” she said.
“I know what I want to achieve in my life. I don’t do yearly targets because then I end up disappointing myself for not meeting them. But I just want to be a good person, I want to be able to give back to people, I want to be able to be better than I was the previous year or day, and so I don’t really set targets for myself.”
Nana Aba noted, “I don’t have a problem with anybody setting targets – yearly targets – for themselves.”
She said the ultimate for her at the close of a year and the start of another was to “look back on the year and say to myself, ‘I did good’.”
“I’m proud of every single thing that has happened to me: the good, the bad, the ugly, the wonderful, the excellent,” the media executive remarked taking stock of her life in general.
