A/R: Shock and outrage in Dunafo over amputation of deceased body

The community of Dunafo in the Kwabre East municipality of the Ashanti Region has been plunged into shock and disbelief following the amputation of a deceased body.
The deceased, Osei Kofi, reportedly had a limb amputated while laid in state during a vigil.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, shortly after the undertaker had finished preparing the body for the vigil.
Mr Isaac Agyeinim Boateng, speaking on Accra 100.5 FM's mid-day news on Friday, May 31, 2024, recounted the distressing events.
Accra FM’s correspondent in the Ashanti Region reported that the family discovered the mutilation and confronted the undertaker, who refused to handle the body further after the left limb had been severed by unknown individuals.
This gruesome act has left the entire area in a state of shock, prompting local youth to block the tomb of the late Osei Kofi, declaring the act an abomination.
In response to the incident, the family, in collaboration with the local chief, performed libation rituals to pacify the community and placed curses on those responsible for the crime.
The community is now grappling with the aftermath of this disturbing event, seeking justice and solace in the face of such a heinous act.
