Energy Minister chairs 7th ISA Africa Regional meeting on solar energy

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr John Jinapor, has chaired the Seventh Meeting of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Regional Committee for Africa, held in Accra.
The conference, organised by the ISA in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, brought together representatives from over 70 countries and institutions to deliberate on how Africa can harness solar technology through innovative and strategic planning.
In his remarks, Mr. Jinapor outlined Ghana’s renewable energy and green transition agenda, highlighting initiatives such as the deployment of solar power for households and strategic facilities, solar streetlights, and off-grid solutions for island communities.
He further urged participants to prioritise local content and technology transfer in their discussions to ensure that African nations fully benefit from solar energy adoption.
As part of the meeting, Ghana signed a partnership framework agreement with the ISA to strengthen cooperation in promoting solar energy across the continent.
