Tragedy at Amuana Praso: Mother of eight drowns in pond

A 42-year-old nursing mother, Grace Amanuwaa, has died in a tragic drowning incident at Amuana Praso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
The mother of eight reportedly slipped and fell into a pond while attempting to fetch water.
According to her sister, Akua Boatemaa, the deceased had been battling epilepsy, which is believed to have contributed to the accident.
Her body has since been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy and preservation as police continue investigations.
In a state of grief, the husband of the deceased, Kwabena Ayigbe, appealed to the Ghana Police Service to release the body for burial.
He explained that he was working on his farm when the incident occurred and urged the authorities to expedite the process to allow the family to lay her to rest.
The tragic incident has thrown the Amuana Praso community into mourning, with residents expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a woman described as hardworking and devoted to her family.
