Former Buffer Stock CEO and wife accused of acquiring multi-million-dollar properties from proceeds of crime — Attorney-General

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has alleged that the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company, Alhaji Wahab Abdul-Hannan Aludiba and his wife unlawfully acquired several high-value properties across the country between 2018 and 2024 using proceeds of crime.
According to details released by the Attorney-General at the Government Accountability series held at the Jubilee House, the couple allegedly used funds misappropriated during the former CEO’s tenure to purchase luxury homes, prime lands, and commercial properties worth millions of dollars and Ghana cedis.
The properties identified include:
Five-bedroom house at Chain Homes — valued at US$1,625,000
Three-bedroom house at Cantonments — valued at US$600,000
Plots of land at Airport Development Area — valued at US$750,000
17-bedroom boutique hotel at Gumani, Tamale — valued at US$250,000
Four-bedroom bungalow at Dzorwulu, Accra — valued at GHS4,142,451
0.32-acre government land purchased — valued at GHS307,200
The Attorney-General indicated that investigations traced the funding sources for these properties to illicit financial activities linked to the operations of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company during the period under review.
According to him, legal proceedings are being initiated to recover the assets and prosecute those involved in line with Ghana’s Anti-Money Laundering Act and Public Property Protection laws.
The development has reignited public debate on corruption and accountability in State-Owned Enterprises, with calls for stricter oversight and transparency mechanisms in the management of public funds.
