GA/R: Water scavenging hits Ningo -Prampram

Residents of Ahwiam, a community in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region, are calling on the government and their Member of Parliament to urgently provide potable drinking water to alleviate their suffering.
For years, Ahwiam and its neighbouring communities have struggled without access to clean drinking water.
Residents say they have been forced to rely on contaminated water from makeshift holes they have dug for domestic use, as the only stream they previously depended on has dried up due to the prolonged dry season.
The dire situation has pushed many residents to depend on water tankers, but they complained of exorbitant prices charged by vendors who are taking advantage of the crisis.
Despite several appeals to authorities, the issue remains unresolved, leaving the community frustrated and desperate for intervention.
Speaking to Accra 100.5 FM's Rebecca Lartey, some residents shared their struggles, emphasizing the urgent need for a sustainable water supply solution.
