Agric Minister breaks ground for projects in Asunafo South

The Minister for Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Asunafo South in the Ahafo Region, Mr Eric Opoku, has cut-sod for a number of developmental projects aimed at improving education and community welfare in the constituency.
A major highlight is the planned establishment of the Kwapong Midwifery and Nursing Training College, which will expand access to professional health education in the Ahafo Region once completed.
The MP also broke ground for the construction of a 12-unit classroom storey building, a kitchen and dining hall facility, and a boys’ dormitory to improve teaching and learning conditions in the area.
To complement student life, he further announced the provision of entertainment instruments valued at GHC40,000.
At the Kwapong TVET/Vocational School, work is set to restore the lighting system to enhance safety and create a more conducive learning environment.
In Norbekaw, sod was cut for a six-unit classroom block and a six-room teachers’ quarters, while in Adomakokrom, a six-room teachers’ quarters project is also scheduled for construction.
Mr Eric Opoku emphasised that these projects form part of his commitment to investing in human capital, strengthening educational infrastructure, and creating opportunities for the youth of Asunafo South.
Community leaders and residents welcomed the initiatives, expressing optimism that the projects will bring lasting improvements to education and development in the constituency.
