PNP calls for urgent suspension of MP for Twifo Atti-Morkwa over comments on KNUST headmaster saga

The People’s National Party has called for the urgent suspension of the Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Mr. Theophilus VonDee, over allegations of openly expressing support for the embattled KNUST headmaster implicated in a recent viral video involving a female student.
The statement signed by the party’s Chairperson and Leader, Janet Asana Nabla, was addressed to the Speaker of Parliament on 2nd October, 2025, the party.
The party expressed dissatisfaction over the utterances of the minister, stating that it is inappropriate for a sitting legislator to defend such despicable acts.
“Such utterances are not only reckless but also undermine Parliament's moral standing as the legislative body entrusted with safeguarding the vulnerable, particularly children”, the statement said.
According to the PNP, his utterances raise questions of whether he is suspicious or guilty of similar offences and call for an investigation into the matter.
The party also proposes that Parliament enact a new law to be symbolically named the VonDee Defilement Defence Prohibition Act.
The legislation under this act should criminalise the defence or shielding of defilers by any public official, prescribe sanctions, and amplify national education against defilement.
The People’s National Party says these measures will affirm the principle that no one in leadership should embolden paedophiles, defilers, or predators of children.
