Some of Bawumia’s 15 MPs are sleeping at Rock City due to their relationship with Bryan Acheapong-Spokesperson

A spokesperson for the Bryan Acheampong for President 2028 campaign, Mr. Yaw Yeboah, has dismissed claims that 15 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Eastern Region are backing former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary.
Speaking on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Accra 100.5 FM, Mr. Yeboah laughed off the claims, arguing that some of the MPs reportedly aligned with Dr. Bawumia were, in fact, lodging at Rock City Hotel, owned by Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
“This clearly shows the allegations are false. Some of the MPs whose names were mentioned as Bawumia supporters were comfortably staying at Dr. Acheampong’s hotel,” Mr. Yeboah said.
Apart of the politics, some of these MPs have their relationship with Dr Acheampong
He also criticised Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, for challenging Dr. Acheampong to name “moles” among the MPs.
His statement was unnecessary in the first place, he stressed stemming from his position in Parliament
According to Mr. Yeboah, such comments were unbecoming of a leader who may have to work with Dr. Acheampong should he emerge as the NPP flagbearer.
At the same time, he commended Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for his neutral stance, noting that his decision not to endorse any of the aspirants demonstrated maturity and a commitment to party unity.
“This is the kind of leadership the NPP needs to keep the party together ahead of the primaries,” Mr. Yeboah concluded.
