Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang pays historic working visit to Kwabre East

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has paid a historic working visit to the Kwabre East Municipality in the Ashanti Region, the first time a Vice President of Ghana has officially visited the area.
She was warmly received by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Joseph Amankwah Nurudeen, traditional leaders (Nananom), residents, and enthusiastic party supporters.
Together, the delegation toured the Mamponteng Jubilee Market to inspect progress on ongoing government-led completion works.
Addressing the gathering, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang stressed that politics must always be rooted in development and unity, noting that true progress is only possible where communities stand together.
“Politics is about development, and wherever there is unity, development will thrive,” she declared.
Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Joseph Amankwah Nurudeen, in his remarks, emphasised that the market had remained dormant for over 12 years due to a change in government.
He reiterated that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, the market’s completion is a priority project tied to the NDC’s 24-hour agenda.
“In nation-building, the NDC is unparalleled, and this market will be completed under President Mahama’s renewed vision for Ghana,” he assured.
Also present at the event was the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Onyina Achampong, who pledged full support for the municipality’s growth.
He appealed to the Vice President to intervene in reviving stalled projects and championed the establishment of a commercial bank or ATM in Mamponteng, the municipal capital, to enhance local commerce.
