NSA Chairman calls for Otto Addo sack over breach of contract

The Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Seth Panwum, has called for the sack of Black Stars Coach Otto Addo.

This comes after the abysmal performance of the senior male national team during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Black Stars, captained by Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, and Jordan Ayew, on different occasions, were beaten thrice, and drew thrice, scoring only three goals during their campaign.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, Angola held Ghana to a 1:1 draw in Luanda, ensuring the latter did not qualify for the 2025 tournament in Morocco.

On Monday, November 18, Niger denied Ghana a chance to redeem their pride and honour as intended by Otto Addo, beating their host by 2:1 at the Accra (Ohene Gyan) Sports Stadium.

Speaking on Angel FM, NSA Chairman Panwum categorically said, "Otto Addo must be sacked"

"Because he was given a performance contract and he has failed to perform," he explained.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council is scheduled for a crucial meeting on Wednesday, November 20, where Otto Addo's fate will be determined.

Meanwhile, former GFA Vice President George Afriyie has said Otto Addo’s performance during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and 2025 AFCON qualifiers should be compared and contrasted to make a decision on whether or not he should stay at post or be fired.
