Energy Minister inaugurates new GRIDCo board

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor (MP), on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, has inaugurated the newly reconstituted board of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), with a charge to strengthen the country’s transmission infrastructure.
In his remarks, the Minister underscored the need for bold reforms and investments to keep pace with Ghana’s rising energy demands.
“Rising power demand requires continuous expansion of generation and transmission capacity.
There is a critical need to strengthen the grid with additional infrastructure to evacuate power efficiently and reliably.
I urge you to use your collective expertise and experience to provide strategic direction, sound governance, and innovative solutions,” Mr. Jinapor said.
On behalf of the new board, Chairperson Mrs. Kuukua Maurice Ankrah pledged their commitment to ensuring that GRIDCo delivers on its mandate of reliable power transmission to support Ghana’s socio-economic growth.
She assured the government and the public that the board will work diligently to provide stability within the power sector, describing GRIDCo as a vital institution for national development.
