The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, has held discussions with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fujii Hisayuki, on strengthening economic cooperation between Ghana and Japan. The engagement took place at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9) in Yokohama.
Talks focused on aligning Japanese investment with Ghana’s national development priorities, particularly in the areas of energy, agribusiness, and digital transformation.
Mr. Madjie underscored Ghana’s stable political environment, vibrant youthful workforce, and favourable investment climate, while highlighting key government initiatives such as the 24-Hour Economy, the Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), and the Big Push Agenda.
He stressed that these policies are designed to position Ghana as the gateway to the West African market.
Mr. Fujii, for his part, commended Ghana’s dedication to sustainable development and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to exploring fresh avenues of partnership, especially in trade, infrastructure, and technology.
