The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Mary Awusi, has led a management team on a strategic working visit to selected Free Zones Enterprises (FZEs) within the Tema Free Zone enclave as part of efforts to deepen collaboration and assess operational performance.
The visit, which took place on March 18, 2026, saw the team engage two key companies operating under the Free Zones programme.
At Rebecca Fashion Manufacturing Ghana Ltd., a leading producer of human and synthetic hair wigs, management highlighted the company’s export footprint across markets including South Africa, Togo and Burkina Faso.
The firm, which employs over 400 workers, commended the GFZA for its continued support.
Dr Awusi, in response, praised the company for its role in job creation and contribution to Ghana’s export sector.
The GFZA delegation also visited MND Metals Company Limited, a metal processing company specialising in converting aluminium and copper scrap into ingots for export.
Established as a Free Zones Enterprise in 2016, the company exports to countries such as India, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Greece.
It employs more than 500 people and provides vocational training while supporting community initiatives.
Dr Awusi commended the company for its strong performance and compliance with Free Zones regulations, urging it to further invest in corporate social responsibility programmes.
She reiterated the Authority’s commitment to supporting Free Zones enterprises to enhance productivity, expand exports and create jobs.
The CEO was accompanied by senior GFZA officials, including the Director of Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, Patience Agbleze Acorlor; Director of Administration, Hanatu Abubakar; Head of Compliance, Michael Larbi; and Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs, Bilal Muazu, among others.
