The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has assured businesses and taxpayers that it is maintaining essential services as heavy rains continue to affect parts of Accra and other areas of the country.

In a statement issued on Monday, 29 June 2026, the GRA urged businesses and taxpayers to take the necessary precautions, warning that further downpours are expected in the coming days.

The Commissioner-General acknowledged that the severe weather could disrupt transport, delay the movement of goods, affect business operations and place additional pressure on businesses seeking to meet customer and regulatory obligations.

The authority said measures had been put in place across the country's ports, border posts and Taxpayer Service Centres (TSCs) to ensure the continued delivery of essential Customs and Domestic Tax services.

According to the GRA, the objective is to keep legitimate trade moving, minimise avoidable disruptions and continue serving taxpayers as efficiently as possible throughout the period.

The authority encouraged businesses to plan ahead, make use of its digital services where appropriate, allow for possible transport delays and prioritise the safety of their employees.

"No business activity is more important than protecting lives," the statement said.

The GRA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses by maintaining service continuity while protecting the revenue that supports national development.

It also wished taxpayers a safe week and urged the public to follow the advice of the relevant emergency and weather authorities as the rains continue.
