Reggie Rockstone quits smoking, overhauls lifestyle over asthma battle
Ghanaian rap artist Reggie Rockstone has shared that he stopped smoking as part of several lifestyle adjustments influenced by his battle with asthma.
Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, the 62-year-old musician explained that while he consumed alcohol and smoked in his younger years, he eventually resolved to change those habits as he grew older.
He noted that his history of asthma, a condition also shared by his father and son, made it necessary for him to stop smoking entirely.
Rockstone expressed gratitude for never using hard drugs, particularly given his addictive personality, though he admitted to trying marijuana in the past.
Beyond quitting smoking, Rockstone has implemented significant dietary changes, including the removal of red meat, alcohol, and processed sugar from his diet.
He mentioned stopping his consumption of pork during his teenage years and cutting out red meat early on, choosing instead to focus on a high intake of water and fruits like watermelon and pawpaw.
In addition to these nutritional choices, he maintains a serious workout routine.
While he does not follow a rigid health programme, Rockstone emphasised the importance of individuals paying close attention to what they eat in the same way they would maintain a vehicle.
