Things said about me used to worry me, but not anymore – Herty Borngreat
Gospel musician Herty Borngreat has revealed that she no longer allows negative comments and criticism to affect her the way they once did, crediting her spiritual growth and maturity for the change.
During an appearance on No.1 FM’s Journey to Heaven programme, anchored by radio presenter Taller Dee, the singer reflected on some of the experiences she encountered earlier in her ministry and how she now views them differently.
According to Herty Borngreat, the collaborations she engaged in during those years caused many people to see her in a different light, leading to opinions and remarks that sometimes left her hurt and disappointed.
She noted that throughout that period, she enjoyed strong support from her family, especially her husband and children, who accompanied her to most events and activities.
“Wherever I went, I mostly went with my husband and kids. If people saw me happy outside, it was because I had full support from my home,” she said.
The gospel artiste admitted that one of the things she would change about her past was how much attention she gave to things people said about her. She explained that whenever she heard negative remarks or accusations, she often became worried because she always tried to avoid hurting others.
Herty said she believed that if she treated people with respect, they would do the same for her, but she later realized that was not always the case.
She disclosed that some of the comments made about her affected her deeply at the time, but her outlook has changed significantly after growing closer to God and gaining greater maturity.
According to her, if similar situations happened today, she would simply ignore them instead of engaging in arguments or allowing them to disturb her peace.
The singer stated that she has learned not to focus on every opinion expressed about her and now places greater value on the wisdom and understanding God has given her through life's experiences.
