Guyana-Ghana Culture Week proposed as both countries strengthen cultural and investment ties
A delegation from Guyana, led by Deputy Mayor Denise Althee Miller, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The visit was to explore collaboration in culture, tourism, and creative arts.
The Deputy Tourism Minister, Yussif Issaka Jajah, welcomed the delegation on behalf of his boss.
He emphasised Ghana’s readiness to deepen ties, describing the engagement as a “homecoming between brothers and sisters”.
For their part, the Guyanese team, led by Deputy Mayor Denise Althee Miller, highlighted shared heritage and traditions that trace back to Ghana, citing examples from food and festivals to family ceremonies.
The discussions covered opportunities for joint cultural events, including a proposed Guyana–Ghana Culture Week, to celebrate their deep historical and creative connections.
