The Majority Chief Whip and National President of the Ghana Law Society, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has predicted that the case currently being pursued by lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea in connection with the legal vacation trials controversy will ultimately fail, even as he heaped praise on Atta Akyea's legacy as a legal figure.

Speaking on JoyNews, Mr Dafeamekpor described Atta Akyea as a legal luminary who shaped his own development as a lawyer.

"Atta Akyea has 17 lawyers in his law firm. And in my formative years, there were some of the lawyers that when I arrived in court early, and I'm able to find my way and handle my motions quickly, I sit and listen to them. It didn't matter how long it took because they were such [brilliant] lawyers," he said.

"They taught us law in practice. We have imbibed and we are [now] here."

Despite that praise, Mr Dafeamekpor was blunt about the outcome he expects from the matter Atta Akyea is currently litigating.

"He knows that the case he's presently litigating will fall flat," he said, adding that "these matters have always come before the law court."
