A fire destroyed a takeaway restaurant, a rubber warehouse, and a factory in the Tema Industrial Area early Tuesday morning, injuring one firefighter in the process.

The fire started around 12:40 a.m., and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded quickly, sending four fire tenders from the Tema Industrial, Devtraco, Motorway, and Free Zones fire stations to fight the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby businesses.

During the operation, a wall collapsed and injured one firefighter. He was rushed to Tema General Hospital, where he is being treated.

After several hours, firefighters managed to put out the fire. They remain at the scene to check for hotspots and secure the affected buildings.

The full extent of the damage is not yet known, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
