Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP) Sarah Adwoa Safo and her siblings were seen bowing before their late father's ceremonial stool during his funeral rites at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region.

Dressed in red and black funeral attire, Adwoa Safo, whose right arm was supported in a black brace following a recent shooting incident, appeared solemn as she and her siblings took part in the traditional rites, accompanied by drumming.

The ceremony proceeded despite an earlier announcement by her brother, Nana Kwadwo Akofena Safo, that the July 30 funeral would not take place. Following that announcement, the High Court issued an injunction restraining the burial.

Earlier, an object appearing to be a casket arrived at the funeral grounds in the cargo bed of a white, unbranded Toyota Hilux pickup truck.

Its arrival came amid uncertainty over the whereabouts of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka's body and an ongoing dispute over his burial.

Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the Kantanka family aligned with Akofena Safo, Nana Karikari, alleged on Accra FM's Ghana Yensom morning show that Adwoa Safo intended to use a toy instead of her late father's body during the burial rites.

"We have heard that Adwoa Safo will lay a toy in the bed instead of her late father's body," Nana Karikari alleged.
