The funeral and burial of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has become a bone of contention between two siblings, lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo and Israel Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, popularly called Akofena.

With the funeral and burial service scheduled for Thursday, July 30 to Friday, July 31, Akofena who is acclaimed as the leader of the Kristo Asafo Church, although controversially, says there will be no rites observed on these days but his elder sister, lawyer Adwoa Safo insists the funeral "will come on live" and has dared her brother to do anything to the contrary.

It could be recalled that there was a violent clash between Akofena and the elder sister when Adwoa Safo reportedly stormed his residence during an installation ceremony observing Akofena as the head of the Kristo Asafo family.

Lawyer Adwoa Safo, on the day, survived some gunshots as her vehicle was riddled with bullets and she was rushed to the hospital.

Following the unfortunate incident, there is an ongoing heated arguments between the brother and the sister regarding the scheduled date for the funeral of the late Apostle Kantanka.

"I urge the members of Kritso Asafo Mission to disregard any date and information circulating," Akofena said in a press conference.

He further stated: "I stand on my authority as the Kantanka family head and the leader of Kristo Asafo to say throw away any date you have heard about. There's no truth in it."

As the nation awaits what will happen on Thursday, Adwoa Safo has sent a note of caution to Akofena to not dare attend the event and misbehave as the lawyer, in an interview on Okay FM's morning show, stated categorically that the funeral will come off as scheduled and will be heavily guarded by State security operatives.

"He is not the one who gave the date neither is he the leader... The funeral will come on live and colored and I am reminding him and his boys that, as part of their bail conditions, they are under a bond to be of good behavior," she replied.

She disclosed that the family has written to the Police for their protection and also officially informed all dignitaries who are to be present at the event.

She mentioned the Chief of Staff, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, among others as some of the high-profile personalities to grace the occasion.

Adwoa Safo warned her younger brother to advise himself and not attempt to disrupt the funeral and burial service, stressing "any person who doesn't agree can go and burn the sea..."

"He wanted to kill me but couldn't succeed by the grace of God. So, he shouldn't dare try to come and cause chaos during the event. We've called all the law enforcement agencies. He is under a strict bond together with his boys who are wielding guns and misbehaving everywhere. They are all under a bail bond to be of good behavior, so they shouldn't attempt to cause violence at the event because the law will take its course," she issued a stern warning to Akofena and his cohort.
