Foreign Affairs Ministry to replace passports lost or damaged in floods
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an expedited process to replace Ghanaian passports lost or damaged during this week's floods in parts of the country.
In a statement issued on Friday, 3 July, the ministry expressed its condolences to families of those who lost their lives and sympathised with all persons affected by the flooding and destruction of property.
The ministry acknowledged that many Ghanaians may have lost or damaged their passports as a result of the floods and said it had introduced a fast-track replacement process.
Affected persons are required to contact the ministry on 055 936 8563 between 3 and 17 July 2026.
Applicants will be required to provide their name, date of birth and gender as they appear in the lost or damaged passport, as well as a contact telephone number.
According to the Ministry, replacement passports are expected to be issued within one week.
The ministry said the initiative forms part of its support for government efforts to assist those affected by the floods and reaffirmed its solidarity with victims during the recovery period.
