GJA reconstitutes statutory committees to strengthen governance and operations, swearing in Aug 17
The National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has reconstituted its Statutory Committees pursuant to Articles 30, 31, and 32 of the Association’s 2004 Constitution.
The move aims to support effective administration, professional development, and strategic growth while assisting the National Executive in executing its duties.
The reconstituted committees comprise veteran journalists, media managers, and experienced industry professionals.
Reconstituted Statutory Committees
1. Membership Vetting Committee
- Chairperson: Albert Kwabena Dwumfour (GJA President)
- Members:
* Kissi Yeboah (Veteran Journalist, formerly with GNA)
* Seth Eyiah (Editor-In-Chief, GBC)
* Peter Ankomah (Editor, Daily Dispatch Newspaper)
* Nana Yaa Konadu (Presenter, Despite Media - Peace FM)
2. Professional Development Committee
- Chairperson: Rebecca Ekpe (GJA Vice President)
- Members:
* Kofi Yeboah (Former General Secretary, GJA / Lecturer, Wisconsin International University College)

Swearing-In and Official Details
The new committee members will be officially sworn into office on Monday, August 17, 2026, during the 77th Anniversary Lecture / Symposium of the Ghana Journalists Association at the British Council in Accra.
The National Executive expressed appreciation to the appointees for accepting the call to serve, noting confidence in their ability to promote high professional standards, safeguard press freedom, and enhance member welfare.
