Ghana signs strategic agricultural partnership with Nebraska to boost local livestock production
Today, the Hon. Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku MP, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the Government of Ghana with the Legislative Council of Nebraska State in the USA.
Nebraska, renowned as one of the world’s leading livestock producers, brings valuable expertise to this partnership—marking a strategic move to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Under the agreement, plans are underway to establish both a dairy processing plant and a meat processing plant in Ghana. With the country currently importing about 90% of its dairy products, this initiative aims to reduce dependence on imports, increase local production, create jobs, and strengthen the national economy.
