Gov't facilitates return of Ghanaian national from South Africa
The Government of Ghana has facilitated the return of a Ghanaian national, Emmanuel Akowuah Asamoah, from South Africa as part of ongoing efforts to support citizens in distress abroad.
Mr. Asamoah was accompanied back home by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Anani Quashie, in a move the Ministry of Foreign Affiars and Regional Integration said reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
Authorities have reiterated that Ghanaians seeking voluntary repatriation can contact the country’s High Commission in South Africa to access support, with relocation costs covered by the state.
The initiative forms part of a broader policy under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of Ghanaians living abroad.
The Ministry emphasised that the government remains committed to protecting its citizens regardless of their location, noting that no Ghanaian in distress would be left without assistance.
Mr. Asamoah is expected to be formally received by government officials following his return.
