The Ghana Scholarships Authority has announced that the government has disbursed first-quarter funds to the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom to address outstanding payments owed to Ghanaian students.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 16, and signed by its Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the Authority indicated that the funds will be used to settle delayed allowances and tuition fees affecting students across several universities in the UK.

The Authority recognised the challenges caused by the delays and extended an apology to affected students, assuring them that measures are being implemented to resolve the situation.

It further explained that the funds will undergo the necessary administrative and financial procedures before disbursements are made to beneficiaries.

The statement assured students that efforts are underway to ensure prompt payment and to prevent similar delays in the future.

It also reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian students studying abroad and enhancing the management of scholarship disbursements.

Students have meanwhile been encouraged to remain patient and stay focused on their academic work as the process is finalised.
