ILO pledges support for Ghana’s 2026–2030 decent work programme
The International Labour Organization has expressed commitment to supporting Ghana in the implementation of its Decent Work Country Programme for 2026–2030.
The programme, launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment and key social partners including the Ghana Employers’ Association, the Ghana Trades Union Congress, and the Ghana Federation of Labour, outlines national priorities focused on job creation, sustainable enterprises, social protection, and the promotion of fundamental rights at work.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Vanessa Phala Director, ILo country office For Nigeria, Ghana, Libera, Seira Leone ond liason for ECOWAS described the programme as a critical framework for advancing Ghana’s employment and development agenda.
She noted that the initiative provides an opportunity for strengthened collaboration among government, employers, and workers to create and sustain decent jobs.
