GMTF trains regional teams ahead of nationwide rollout
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is set to deploy its Regional Coordinators and Patient Navigators across specialised health facilities nationwide, following the successful completion of their training.
The initiative forms part of preparations toward the full rollout of the Fund, which aims to improve access to specialised healthcare services across the country.
According to the Administrator, Adwoa Oboubia Darko Opoku, Patient Navigators will play a key role in guiding registered patients through the healthcare system, helping to remove barriers to care, facilitate timely access to treatment, and strengthen communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Regional Coordinators, on the other hand, will be responsible for overseeing operations at the regional level, ensuring that national strategies are effectively implemented and that service delivery meets expected standards.
Miss Darko Opoku said the orientation programme has equipped the teams with the necessary skills and knowledge to begin operations, marking a major step toward full implementation.
She stated that Ghana Medical Trust Fund is designed to enhance healthcare financing and ensure that more Ghanaians, particularly those requiring specialised care, can access the support they need.
She maintained that the rollout underscores a broader commitment to equity in healthcare, with a focus on making quality medical services accessible to all citizens.
