Social commentator and governance advocate Ivan Kyei Innocent has cautioned that many individuals, including pastors, musicians and business owners, may unknowingly become involved in fraudulent activities through indirect associations and financial dealings.

According to him, several people often find themselves linked to fraud-related activities without fully understanding the legal and financial implications of the transactions or partnerships they engage in.

He explained that in some instances, individuals allow their names, accounts, businesses or platforms to be used by others without conducting proper checks, exposing themselves to possible legal consequences and reputational damage.

He raised these concerns while speaking on Oman Ghana Nkusuo morning show on Accra-based CTV hosted by Ya Titi on Thursday.

Mr. Ivan Kyei Innocent stressed that religious leaders, entertainers and entrepreneurs are particularly vulnerable because of the level of public trust and influence attached to their professions.

He noted that fraud has evolved beyond traditional schemes and now involves sophisticated networks where unsuspecting persons may unknowingly aid suspicious financial activities.

He therefore urged the public to exercise caution in their financial transactions, business partnerships and endorsements, while encouraging individuals and organisations to conduct proper due diligence before entering agreements.

He further called for increased public education on financial crimes and compliance regulations to help reduce the risk of people becoming entangled in fraudulent activities unknowingly.
