Julius Debrah calls for renewed focus on manufacturing
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah Julius Debrah has urged a renewed national commitment to the manufacturing sector, describing it as central to Ghana’s long-term economic transformation.
Addressing participants at the Kwahu Business Forum on Friday, April 3, he stressed that building a resilient, inclusive, and stable economy will require a deliberate expansion of industrial activity.
He noted that government must take the lead in creating conditions that support business growth, pointing to the need for clear policies, sound macroeconomic management, improved infrastructure, effective regulation, skills development, and dependable energy supply.
According to him, these elements are critical to attracting and sustaining investment, cautioning that uncertainty within the business environment continues to limit long-term commitments in the manufacturing space.
Mr Debrah also called on the private sector to match government efforts by investing boldly and driving innovation.
He further encouraged businesses to formalise their operations where necessary and expand beyond their current scale in order to remain competitive and play a stronger role in national development.
