Land Dispute: Police officer, 6 others injured in gun battle at Gomoa Oguaakrom, New Winneba
Seven individuals have reportedly been injured following a clash between residents in Gomoa Oguaakrom and New Winneba.
Among the injured persons is a police officer with the New Winneba Police Station.
Reports gathered indicate that residents of Oguaakrom staged a protest, accusing New Winneba residents of selling lands belonging to Oguaakrom.
The residents of Oguaakrom, this morning, stormed New Winneba and attempted to lock up shops in the town while firing gunshots.
This was met with a fierce resistance and retaliation from residents of New Winneba.
Following the clash, some residents have fled the community in fear.
Heavy police presence is in the area to restore calm and order.
So far, no deaths have been confirmed.
