11 arrested, pump-action gun and ammunition seized in Nkwanta operation
A joint Police-Military team has arrested 11 suspects during an intelligence-led operation at Kromase near Nkwanta.
The operation, conducted on August 26, 2026, was part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
According to the Police, the operation resulted in the recovery of “one black pump-action gun, twenty-one (21) AAA and two (2) BB live cartridges, one brown body armour, a locally made ammunition belt, and a piece of Police-embossed cloth.”
The suspects, aged between 17 and 70, are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations.
The Police said the recovered exhibits have been secured for further action.
The security agencies said they will “continue to intensify intelligence-led operations to identify and remove illegal weapons and other security threats from the Nkwanta area.”
The Police and Military also urged the public to remain vigilant and support the security agencies with “credible and timely information” to help safeguard the prevailing peace.
