MP for Asante Akyem North detained in Netherlands – Parliament
Parliament has confirmed that the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asante Akyem North Constituency, Kwame Ohene Frimpong, has been detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
A statement signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Mr Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, said the matter has come to the attention of Parliament and that the Speaker, Mr Alban Bagbin, and the leadership of the House are engaging Ghana’s Mission in The Hague for detailed information.
“The Rt Hon Speaker and the Leadership of the House are in touch with Ghana's Mission in The Hague for detailed information on the matter,” the statement said.
Parliament added that the public will be informed appropriately as more details emerge.
No further details have been provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the detention.
