MP's support boosts muslim community project after Ramadan
The Member of Parliament for Jomoro and Deputy Minister of Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toofey, has fulfilled a pledge to support development within a Muslim community in Jomoro by donating building materials and food items following the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting period.
The donation included 100 bags of cement to aid the completion of a nursery facility, as well as assorted food items comprising 100 bags of rice, 100 boxes of cooking oil, 25 boxes of tinned tomatoes and 25 boxes of mackerel.
The items were received on behalf of the community by Chief Imam Alhaji Jallo, who expressed appreciation for the gesture.
The MP described the initiative as part of efforts to promote unity, solidarity and community development, particularly during a period that symbolises sacrifice, renewal and togetherness.
According to her, the intervention is expected to support both infrastructure development and the welfare of residents, while strengthening ties between community members.
