The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Economy and Development Committee and the Member of parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has announced that the Minority will file Right to Information (RTI) requests to obtain details of three agreements approved by Parliament to strengthen tax administration.

The agreements, which received parliamentary approval on Tuesday July 28,2026, are multi-year expenditure commitments that will enable government to engage service providers for the implementation of the Fiscal Electronic Device (FED) Policy, the Ghana Domestic Revenue Collection Platform, and a Cross-Border E-Commerce VAT Monitoring and Collection System.

The Minority voted against the agreements, arguing that Parliament was not provided with sufficient information to adequately scrutinise the contracts before their approval.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the RTI requests are intended to obtain the full details of the agreements to enable the Minority assess their terms, implementation arrangements and potential fiscal implications.
