Mireku Duker testifies in Akonta Mining case as defense witness
Former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker, has appeared in court as the second defense witness in the ongoing legal proceedings involving the Akonta Mining case.
Mr. Duker testified in support of the first and third accused persons in the case, which is linked to allegations surrounding the operations of Akonta Mining and associated individuals.
His appearance forms part of the defense’s effort to present evidence in favour of the accused persons as the court continues to hear arguments from both sides.
The case, which has attracted significant public attention, involves issues relating to mining operations and regulatory compliance within Ghana’s extractive sector.
Proceedings are expected to continue as the court examines witness testimonies and other evidence presented by both the prosecution and defense teams
